#๐๐”๐๐€๐ | PACKAGE OF TECHNOLOGY TRAINING ON VEGETABLE PRODUCTION IN URBAN SETTING
The DA9 National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP) recently concluded the first day of its two-day POT training (April 3-4, 2024), conducted in Zamboanga City. The training is attended by about 30 participants coming from different sectors of Zamboanga and Isabela City, such as Community Gardeners, Schools, Non-Government Organizations, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the City Agriculturist Office.
APCO Arnulfo Estrada in his welcome message emphasizes the importance of this training and encourages the participants to focus on the topics discussed to them by the resource speakers. Accordingly, the success of the NUPAP program and the technology imparted to them is anchored on how the participants translate this learned knowledge into actual actions when they return to their respective places.
On the other hand, City Agriculturist Arben Magdugo said the impact of the training will be measured by how successfully the participants have practiced and implemented the knowledge they gained from the training. Furthermore, he said that his office will continue to work closely with DA9 in ensuring the successful implementation of agriculture programs and projects in the city.
The resource speakers were, Munir A. Hinay, Co-Founder of KIDS WHO FARM; Diowella Ponteras, Kids Who Farm Core Volunteer Trainer; Jeffrey Sereรฑo, Owner of Cafelayan Hydroponics/Kids Who Farm Core Volunteer Trainer; Zandra A. Quirante, Professor, JHSC; and Engโ€™r. Hannah Hazel Villarosa, NUPAP staff. NUPAP Focal Person Analiza M. Quilo provided the participants with the Rationale and overview of DA-NUPAP. (Info)
